HAY COMIDA IN CASA—there’s food at home—is a 6 course dinner in collaboration with chef Oscar Samayoa of Birria Ta-Ta-Taco, highlighting Samayoa’s journey as a chef with limited resources in Chicago. Each course will be a reflection of experiences throughout Samayoa’s childhood that are an ode to what inspires his current work—90’s nostalgia, his grandmother, Midwest seasonality, and Central American/Mexican staples, to name a few.
Oscar Samayoa is a first generation Guatemalan-American chef, father and restaurateur. He cut his teeth in kitchens like Mi Tocaya, Longman and Eagle, and Chichetti before founding experiential dining concepts Birria Tatatacos . A true all-city Chicagoan, Oscar develops thoughtful food experiences while building sustainable resources for the next generation of diverse entrepreneurs and communities.
Vis-à-vis is an at-home-dinner series. An invitation to encounter the presence of another through the making and sharing of food. To deeply connect through the stories of people, of ingredients, of products that move us.
This is a 6+ course progressive meal including a spirited (or NA) welcome cocktail. Guests are invited to BYOB for this event.
This menu is incredibly thoughtful and though we will do our best to accommodate all dietary restrictions, we ask for please no preferences. We are proud to always offer a pescatarian and vegetarian menu, but might not be able to make all courses vegan.
We do understand that life happens! Unfortunately, these tickets are non refundable as this collaborator will be here one time for this very special event. Though we are happy to try to help facilitate transfers to other parties, as we usually have a waitlist. Please always email us at hello@txatxaclub.com to be added to the list or check on a transfer.
